13 Jan Shipments & Failures
I made a promise to myself that I was going to take time and make sure that I try to write, edit, and ship a new post 5 days a week.
This week I only achieved 3 out of 5 days.
In school that would be a failing grade.
In basketball a 60% from the free throw line would make me the guy to foul at the end of the game. From the 3 point line it would make me the guy the coach tells “to shoot at will.”
In baseball it would mean I’m batting 600. I’d most likely win multiple trophies. I get a big pay day.
I made a goal to ship new work 5 days a week.
Some weeks I may ship all 5 days. Other weeks I may only have 3 shipments of work.
It doesn’t mean I’m a failure. It doesn’t mean I’m successful.
It demonstrates I’ve made a commitment. A commitment to do the difficult work.
The work of using my lens to see and hear during my journey. To chose words, to build a world, that shares my perspective.
To be vulnerable. Honest. Succinct.
This isn’t about writing. It’s about doing the work to ship something into the world.
This has been shipped at the N of 1.
